Contracts Accountant / Marketing Coordinator Internship

Landis Evans + Partners is actively seeking a highly motivated person to assist with project contracting and accounting, marketing coordination, and related activities.  This is initially a part-time position reporting to the Financial Controller for an accounting major in their junior year (second semester) or (first semester) senior year. Landis Evans has a dynamic and collaborative work environment, operating within a fast-paced, deadline-driven industry, and is recruiting a talented, driven, and detail-oriented person who enjoys work variety.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, talents, and skills:

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA in Accounting
  • Highly proficient in Excel (pivots, lookups, charting) and Word; working knowledge of PowerPoint and MS Project is beneficial
  • Ability to understand, navigate, use, and be proficient in financial software and performance reporting
  • Strong writing/editing and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices
  • Strong work ethic, flexibility to work until the assignment gets done

 

Responsibilities:

Marketing Coordination

  • Coordinate and assemble (public sector) proposals
  • Assist pursuit managers with project budgets (Vision/Excel) and schedules (MS Project)
  • Ensure complete, compliant, and early RFP submittals
  • Assist pursuit managers with scope and hours in contract negotiations

 

Project Accounting

  • Assist project managers and Financial Controller in projects accounting set up and subconsultant contracting and budgeting
  • Provide weekly projects’ accounting/budget compliance
  • Assist project managers with supplemental agreements/change orders

 

Assist Financial Controller with Accounting and Office Management

  • Reconcile daily cash, and process deposits and accounts payable
  • Assist with month-end duties
  • Help assemble information for external auditors for annual audit and tax preparation
  • Provide accounting/administrative support to all personnel, as needed
  • Answer and route calls with highest level of professionalism; greet clients, and vendors; prepare all incoming and outgoing mail for distribution; coordinate courier scheduling for timely project deliveries; maintain an orderly and clean office environment

Note: This is a paid internship up to $25 per hour, and this is not an approved course for our internship credit.
