At Beta Alpha Psi, we encourage leadership, and we foster a community in which students and develop professionally while also creating a sense of belonging. It is with this purpose in mind that we have established both the Beta Buddy program and the Inspire Mentor program.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to the respective chairs of these programs:

Beta Buddy Program

The Beta Buddy Program pairs up a current Beta Alpha Psi member with a new Candidate with a goal in mind: helping these new candidates navigate our organization in order to foster a better and more welcoming community, while helping them as they go through the recruiting process, classes, and other opportunities that current members have already experienced in the past.

Beta Buddies will also be encouraged to participate in weekly challenges to accumulate points, with the opportunity of winning money prizes! This is possible thanks to Prida Guida & Perez’ support of this program.

This program is required for every new candidate, please fill out this survey by September 6th, 2023, to ensure the best beta buddy pair ups possible!

Inspire Mentor Program

In addition to our Beta Buddy program, at Beta Alpha Psi we also offer what we call the Inspire Mentor program. This program is a great opportunity for BAP members to get to know a professional in the Tampa Bay Area who was once in their shoes for them to obtain formal and informal feedback, advice, and insight into what the profession of accounting looks like.

Through this program BAP candidates/members are paired with accounting professionals who act as their Mentor for the semester. Throughout the semester, members will keep in touch and communicate with their mentors using their preferred method of communication.
Some of the great benefits of joining our Mentor Program are:
  1. Great networking opportunity with professionals in the accounting field
  2. Learning the corporate culture
  3. Ability to engage in one-on-one interactions with professionals to answer any questions you may have about the recruiting process
  4. Opportunity to participate in an office visit, so you can see first-hand what the accounting profession is all about (tentative)
  5. Personal help with resume building and interview advice from someone who has been through the process already
Please be advised that this is a major commitment made by our Mentors, so please be sure to take this commitment seriously. If you are still interested in being a Mentee in the INSPIRE Mentor Program for the Fall 2023 semester, please fill out this survey before the deadline on September 24, 2023
