Requirements Breakdown
1. Academic & Financial Eligibility
GPA Standards: You must enter the organization with and maintain a minimum 3.0 Accounting GPA and a 3.0 Overall GPA.
Dues: Total of $125 for the Fall 2025 semester. This investment includes national registration, local dues, a chapter t-shirt, a professional name tag, and a mandatory professional headshot.
Documentation: Submit official or unofficial transcripts to transcripts@usfbap.org by 09/03/2025.
2. Service & Engagement
Community Service: 12 total hours are required per semester. Eight (8) of these hours MUST be BAP-sponsored activities.
Professional Tutoring: Hold one tutoring hour per week at the tables near the School of Accountancy office, beginning 09/08/2025.
Committee Work: Actively serve on two (2) committees as assigned by the Vice President to support chapter operations.
3. Professional Development
Core Attendance: Attend 75% of all regular meetings and socials throughout the semester.
Mandatory Events: Attendance is required at all flagship professional events, including:
Leadership Conference & Career Fair Bootcamp (Sept 13)
Meet the Firms (Sept 15) & Accounting Career Fair (Sept 26)
Mock Interviews (Week of Sept 15)
Grant Thornton Speech Competition (Nov 19)
Scholarship Banquet (Dec 5)
Technical Workshops: Candidates are required to attend at least one (1) professional workshop during the semester.
The Three-Stage Journey
Stage 1: The Professional Sprint (Candidate) Your journey begins with a single semester of candidacy. This is a high-intensity period where you prove your dedication through service, tutoring, and professional development. Completion of these requirements is your ticket to international membership.
Stage 2: The Transition Phase (Newly Initiated Member) After a successful candidate semester, you will be formally initiated. You enter a "probationary" period where a final GPA check is conducted at the start of the following semester to ensure the 3.0 standard remains the benchmark for our chapter's elite reputation.
Stage 3: The Elite Tier (Member in Good Standing) This is the final professional status maintained until graduation. As an "Active Member," you gain full access to our leadership pipeline and alumni network, continuing the legacy of excellence while mentoring the next generation of candidates.
