Sara Winston is a student is the Masters of Accountancy program and was born and raised here in Tampa, FL. She began the graduate program this summer after completing a busy season audit internship with EY in the Tampa office, where she will start full time in Fall 2015. Fall 2013 she served as Vice President for the Delta Gamma chapter and this fall in addition to being president, she will be working as a Managerial Accounting TA for the School of Accountancy. Aside from studying for the CPA, in her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and taking her dog to the dog park.

Lauren Johnson

Lauren is a fifth generation Tampa resident, currently enrolled in the Masters of Accountancy program at USF. She recently completed an audit internship with KPMG, where she will start full-time in January, 2016. In her free time, Lauren enjoys traveling, trying new things, and playing with her two German Shepherds.

Brian, originally from Tampa, is currently a senior in his final semester of his Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He plans on pursuing a Masters of Accountancy here at the University of South Florida, while also studying for the CPA exams, and strives to work for a public accounting firm. Brian currently works at Busch Gardens Tampa as a Supervisor of Park Operations. In his free time, Brian enjoys family time, professional sports, and history.

Marcus Ellis Marcus Ellis – ChiefExecutive of National Reporting

Before becoming a Bull, Marcus Ellis completed his Associate of the Arts degree at State College of Florida. In 2014 he was chosen to become the Wiley CPAexcel Campus Rep and now a senior with plans on finishing his undergraduate degree in accounting in 2015. He plans to begin studying for the CPA as well as work towards a Masters in Accountancy after completion of his Bachelor’s. He enjoys playing the guitar and working out, and his hobbies include cooking, shopping, and volunteering at church.

Joe Lin Jiuying Lin – Senior Executive of Recording Operations

Jiuying Lin is a senior in his final semester of his bachelor’s degree at USF, with a double-major in Accounting and Finance. Originally coming from China, Jiuying overcame the language and cultural barrier and developed love for the cultural diversity. He has helped a small non-profit organization, Bowls-for-good start up their accounting practice and served as a treasurer for Toastmaster, a public speaking organization. Now he’s currently the director of fundraising for International Student Association and Planning on studying for his CPA while working towards his MAcc at USF . He enjoys playing basketball and making music in his free time.

Patric, born and raised in Sebring, Florida, transferred to USF for the fall semester of 2013. Currently, he is working toward an accounting internship while taking classes at the university. He plans to continue on for his Master’s Degree, earning his CPA along the way. His interests include fishing, camping, and watching college football.

Aaj Solanki – President

Aaj Solanki was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. He is currently an undergraduate Accounting major and will graduate in the Fall of 2013. During the past year, he helped start up the USF Accounting Society and completed an Assurance internship with Deloitte. He also is part of the School of Accountancy Student Advisory Board as well as a board member on the Accounting Circle. Aaj will be pursuing his Masters of Accountancy in the Spring and will then start full time with Deloitte in 2015. In his free time he enjoys playing Intramural sports and eating different types of food!

Sara Winston – Vice President

Sara was born and raised in Tampa; she started playing hockey at age 12 and attended schools in Bradenton, FL and Stowe, VT to pursue this passion. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and traveling. This past summer she interned with Byron Shinn at his firm, Shinn and Company LLC in Bradenton, where she learned a lot while working in both Tax and Audit. She will graduate with her undergrad this December and continue on to pursue her Masters of Accountancy and eventually sit for the CPA exam.

Josh Trim – Chief Financial Officer

Before becoming a Bull, Joshua Trim was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area. He completed his Associate of the Arts degree at Hillsborough Community College prior to transferring to USF to attain his Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy. Joshua was recently chosen to become the first FICPA Student Ambassador to USF, as well as being a member of the USF School of Accountancy’s Student Advisory Board. He plans to earn his Master’s of Accountancy at USF as well as study for his CPA and CIA after completion of his Bachelor’s. Josh works at Datz in South Tampa as a server, after recently stepping down from his Office Manager and Accountant position so that he can focus on finishing his undergraduate degree. In his free time, Joshua enjoys the company of friends and family, kayaking, and sleeping.

Alex Martinson – Chief Executive of National Reporting

Alex grew up in a military family and moved to Panama City, Florida in 2007. Then, in 2010, she moved to Tampa to begin school at USF. Alex will graduate in Fall 2014 with her undergraduate degree as well as her fifth year requirements. In the spring of 2014, she will participate in an audit internship with Grant Thornton. Along with her involvement in Beta Apha Psi, Alex will begin studying for the CPA and is a member of Gamma Phi Beta.

Brian McCarthy – President

Before becoming a Bull, Brian was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. He graduated with his undergraduate degree in accounting in December 2011 and completed an advisory internship with Ernst & Young in the spring. Currently, he is pursuing his Master of Accountancy, working as a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Financial Accounting, and studying for the CPA exam. In his free time, Brian enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and playing bagpipes.

Justin Chan – Vice President

Justin was born and raised in the Philippines. He later moved to the United States, and is currently pursuing his Masters of Accounting, with a focus on Taxation. He also works as a tutor, helping students with Accounting and Finance courses. In his free time, Justin likes to stay in shape by getting a good workout at the gym, spending time with friends and trying out new foods. He hopes to one day become a professor, after gaining some real-world experience out in the accounting field.

Mitchell Seminario – Chief Financial Officer

Mitchell was born and raised on the east coast of Florida. He received his Bachelor’s with a double major in Accounting and Finance from UCF in 2011. Mitchell then moved to Tampa and became a Bull and is currently pursuing his Master of Accountancy with an Audit/Systems concentration while working as a Graduate Assistant for the financial aid office at USF. When not studying for the CPA exam, Mitchell enjoys weightlifting, running, and spending time with family and friends.

Sara van Spronsen was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and spent most of her young childhood there. She is achieving her Bachelor’s in Accounting with a minor in Business Management and intends to pursue her CPA license, as well as a Master’s in Finance upon graduation in 2014. She currently interns for Bashor & Legendre, LLP, CPAs in Carrollwood and works part-time for Glazer Children’s Museum in downtown Tampa.

Marissa Fassino – President

Marissa was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in Washington, D.C, Flagstaff, Arizona, and Melbourne Beach, Florida. She graduated with her undergraduate in accounting in December 2011 and completed a spring internship with Ernst & Young. She is looking forward to completing her Master’s degree, being a Teaching Assistant, spending a month in Europe, completing the CPA exam, and starting full-time with Ernst & Young all by September 2013. Between studying, Beta Alpha Psi, and working she likes watch movies, begin Pinterest projects, and spend too much money at Target and Home Goods.

Pamela Bennett – Vice President

Pamela grew up in South Carolina, and moved to Orlando her senior year in high school, before becoming a Bull.  She will be graduating with her undergraduate degree in Accounting in December 2012.  Following graduation, she plans to begin the Master’s program at USF and begin her CPA exam during this time.  She currently works as a student assistant on campus at USF, helping visitors and professionals with training courses.  In her free time, Pamela enjoys, extreme couponing, dancing, eating, traveling, and spending plenty of time with friends, family and her two kittens.

Camesha Brown – Chief Operating Officer and Director of Web Architecture

Camesha grew up in a small town near Montego Bay, Jamaica. After finishing high school in 2007 she moved to Florida. She received her Associate in Arts degree from Palm Beach State College in 2009. She then transferred to the University of South Florida (USF) in 2010, where she received her bachelor’s in Accounting in December 2011. She just completed her second semester the Master’s of Accountancy program (audit/systems concentration) at USF. She hopes to complete the MAcc program in December 2012 and finish all sections of the CPA exam by January 2013. After which she plans to work for a public accounting firm in audit or IT audit. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, watching TV, and learning at least two words in different languages.

Joshua Goldberg – Senior Executive of Recording Operations

Raised in Tampa, Florida, Joshua always had an aptitude for mathematics and business. He is currently pursuing his undergrad in accounting and finance; which he will complete with 150 credit hours in December 2013. During the summer of 2012, Joshua was an intern for United Technologies Corporation. He plans to take the CPA exam following his undergrad. In his leisure time, Joshua enjoys reading, exercising, movies, sports, and spending time with his family.

Ashlie is a native Tampa resident and has loved every minute of it. She obtained her first bachelor’s degree in health sciences from the University of Florida, but along the way found her passion in tax accounting. She is now back in school pursuing her CPA requirements. In the Spring of 2013 Ashlie will start her Tax Internship with Grant Thornton. In her free time she enjoys working-out, spending time with her family, and soaking up any sunlight she can find.

Ashley Ciccareello – Chief Executive of National Reporting

Ashley Ciccarello is currently a senior majoring in accounting from Tampa, FL. She started USF in 2009 and has lived in the Bulls Business Community, an on-campus living-learning community for business majors, for three years. Within the community, Ciccarello served as a mentor to freshmen business majors and as a resident assistant (RA). Ciccarello currently works part-time in the College of Business Dean’s Suite as a fiscal and business student assistant and also serves as an orientation team leader for the Office of Orientation. While in college, Ciccarello has co-founded the Women in Business Society and volunteered at the Tampa Police Department. In 2011, Ciccarello was chosen as one of the College of Business’ 25 Under 25 honorees, and, in 2012, she was chosen as one of USF’s Golden Bull recipients. Outside of school, she enjoys going to the beach, running, and going to church. In January 2013, Ciccarello will start her audit internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers. After her internship, Ciccarello plans on pursuing a master’s in accountancy from USF.

Amanda Kerney – President

Amanda Kerney was born and raised with sand between her toes in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Currently, she is pursuing her accounting degree and 5th year CPA track and will be completed with all coursework in spring 2012. Amanda will be taking on the Becker Fast Track during this summer and will be starting full-time as an audit associate with McGladrey in January 2013. In her free time, Amanda actively pursues extreme couponing and is always looking for the latest deals.

Jessica was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. She will be graduating with her undergraduate degree in Accounting in December 2012. Following graduation, she will begin her Audit internship with PwC and will thereafter complete her 5th year at USF and plans to begin her CPA exam during this time. She currently works as a Private Math Tutor in the South Tampa area, tutoring students in math levels ranging from elementary math to Calculus 3. In her free time, Jessica enjoys training avidly for half marathons, baking, traveling, crocheting, and spending plenty of time with friends, family and her puppy.

In his spare time he likes to play video games, take pictures and find excuses to use his assortment of home improvement tools.

Rajesh Mirchandani – Senior Executive of Recording Operations

Rajesh was born in Miami, Florida and raised in Tampa, Florida for most of his life. He is popularly recognized around USF’s accountancy program as “one of the twins…” While attending USF, he worked in the healthcare industry creating reports using relational database management systems. He is currently completing his undergraduate degree and plans to graduate in December 2012. Upon completion, he will move onto an audit internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Tampa. He then plans to attain a Master’s in Accounting, during which he plans to earn his CPA license. When Rajesh is not busy studying, he loves to travel all over the world. His favorite international hotspots include London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Mumbai, and Singapore. Rajesh is also an avid soccer fan and in his free time is cheering on his favorite club, Manchester United.

Puja was born in Huntsville, AL but was raised near Cocoa Beach, FL. She will be graduating in December of 2012 with her undergraduate degree in Accounting. After graduation, Puja will begin an Audit Internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers and from there she will enter graduate school to obtain her Master’s and start her CPA exams. Outside of studying and going to school, Puja enjoys shopping, running, traveling, and hanging out with friends.

Roshan Mirchandani – Chief Executive of National Reporting

Roshan was born in Miami, Florida and has grown up in Tampa since the age of two. He has an identical twin brother who, together, have become well-known in the Accounting Program for their similarities. During his time at USF, Roshan worked in Database Management, using Oracle systems, in the healthcare industry. He is currently pursuing his Undergraduate degree in Accounting, with an Audit focus, and will graduate in the Fall of 2012. Upon completion, he will move onto an Audit internship, in January 2013, with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Tampa. He then plans to complete his Master’s of Accountancy, during which he hopes to earn his CPA license. When Roshan is not studying or involved with Beta Alpha Psi he loves to travel internationally. Some of his favorite destinations include Mumbai, London, Amsterdam, Dubai and Hong Kong. He is also a passionate sports fan, and loves to cheer for his favorite sports team, Manchester United.

Kathy Howe – President

Kathy recently accepted an internship position with TECO Energy and will be working in their internal audit department.

Amanda was born and raised in the Cocoa Beach, FL area. Beginning in Spring of 2012, she will begin her internship with Grant Thornton and will thereafter complete her undergraduate in Accounting, followed by her Masters of Accountancy degree while sitting for the CPA Exam. She currently works as a Private Tutor and Interview Coach academically and professionally preparing students. When Amanda is not dedicating her time to academics or Beta Alpha Psi, you can find her creating artwork, at the beach, playing recreational sports, cooking international cuisines, or traveling.

Christina Mueller was born and raised in Palm Harbor, Florida. She graduated as a double major in accounting and management in May 2011. Christina is currently enrolled in the Masters of Accountancy program with a focus on taxation and plans to begin her CPA exam during this time. She hopes to one day begin her PhD and become a professor. In her free time, Christina enjoys playing video games, cooking, and making costumes.

Cristen Grund – Treasurer

Cristen was born in Ohio, but grew up in Orlando before moving to Tampa in 2007. Prior to coming to USF, Cristen worked as an Accounting Manager in several industries. She will be graduating with her B.S. in Accountancy in December 2011, followed by an Audit internship with Grant Thornton, then getting married in April of 2012. Cristen plans to enter the MAcc program at USF, following her internship and wedding, under her married name-to-be, Cristen Carlson. When Cristen isn’t hitting the accounting books she enjoys cooking and cheering on her favorite teams, the Cleveland Browns and Orlando Magic!

Michael Territo – Chapter Reporter

Michael is currently completing his undergraduate degree, which will be finished in December 2011. Upon completion, he will move onto an audit internship this January with Grant Thornton in Tampa. He then plans to enroll in USF’s Master’s of Accountancy program in Fall 2012, during which he plans to earn his CPA license. Michael started his own business with his brother during his freshman summer and has volunteered with the AARP’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) for the past two tax seasons in his hometown of Brooksville, FL. When Michael isn’t studying he likes to play tennis, basketball, play video games, and fish with his girlfriend.

Christopher Rosales – President

Christopher was born in Miami, but he was raised in the Tampa Bay area. He graduated from Hillsborough High School 3rd in his class and was a Tampa Tribune Scholar for graduating class 2006. He currently works at Comfort Suites and is going into his 3rd year. Christopher completed his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of South Florida in Fall of 2010. He is currently pursuing his graduate degree in Accounting and plans to start the CPA examination while completing school. He is a highly involved member of Beta Alpha Psi and enjoys community service events. In any free time, he enjoys roller skating, finding the next funniest video on YouTube, and singing loudly in the car.

Katherine Howe graduated with her undergraduate in accounting December 2010. Linda Fernandez – IS Director

After graduating with a finance degree, Linda worked in the insurance industry as a commercial accounts underwriter. She always enjoyed the financial aspect of analyzing businesses and from a combination of work experience and her background in finance knew she was interested in accounting. She joined Beta Alpha Psi in the spring of 2010 and hopes to graduate from the MAcc program in the fall of 2011.

Elizabeth Shepard – Chapter Secretary

Elizabeth was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. She will graduate with her undergraduate in Accounting from the University of South Florida in May 2011. She plans on pursuing her graduate degree after graduation and will sit for her CPA during graduate school. Elizabeth currently works at Santo’s Italian Grill, a family owned restaurant in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Elizabeth has also been awarded a Student’s Excellence grant for the second semester and assists an accounting professor throughout the semester. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and shopping with her sister.

Kari Ferguson – Treasurer

Kari has lived in Tampa, Florida her entire life. She will be graduating with a Bachelors in Accountancy in May 2011. Following graduation she will begin her internship with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She plans on attending graduate school in Fall 2011. During that time she will hopefully finish up her CPA exam. She currently works at PetSmart and loves animals. When she is not studying or working, she enjoys sleeping and hanging out with her friends.

Carson Hardy – Chapter Reporter

After growing up in Bradenton, Florida, Carson is attending USF for his undergraduate degree. Nearing the completion of that degree, Carson will graduate in May and work as an Audit Intern with Grant Thornton here in Tampa. From there he will study for his Master’s of Accountancy degree, and earn his CPA license prior to full-time work. Carson is the Vice President and Captain of the Roller Hockey Club at USF, competing in a national league. In his free time he likes to exercise, watch sports, watch movies, and read books. One of his most fond memories was backpacking through Europe this summer, and studying abroad with the USF School of Accountancy.

Rob Goodwin – President

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Rob has been in the Tampa Bay area for the past ten years. During this time he has held many different positions including managing, tutoring prep and college level mathematics, accounting, and writing; and acting as a partner in a commercial cleaning business. Currently, he is a teaching assistant for Principles of Financial Accounting and runs his own cleaning company. Since returning to school, he has served in a number of leadership positions, including treasurer and president of the HCC Student Government Association and currently serves as the president of Beta Alpha Psi.

Amanda Porupski – Vice President

Amanda Porupski was born and raised in Tulsa, OK. She attended Oklahoma State University before transferring to USF. Amanda is currently working towards her Master of Accountancy and preparing for the CPA exam. Amanda and her husband own their own company, Florida Hardwood Flooring. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys camping, riding bikes, scrapbooking, and playing basketball. Amanda won first place in the Grant Thornton Speech Contest in Fall 2009 for her speech “The Recruiting Process of an Accountant.” Amanda just returned from studying abroad with USF School of Accountancy. Amanda visited 5 countries while in Europe. She studied the impact of the IFRS convergence on AIS. Amanda is the Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi.

Ana Chirino – IS Director

Ana is a graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa with a business degree in Economics and is currently a returning student pursuing a degree in Accounting. She is very active in the Tampa Bay community and is the Board President of Boyette Oaks Homeowner’s Association. She served on the Pasco Alliance of Community Associations board, BAP Gold Challenge committee and participated in community events such as “Paint Your Heart Out” with Deloitte. Ana also brings her technology, marketing and managerial skills to the Beta Alpha Psi officer team.

James was born and raised in Valrico, Florida and will graduate with his undergraduate in Accounting from the University of South Florida in December 2010. He plans on pursuing his graduate degree after graduation and will sit for his CPA during graduate school. James currently works at Bill’s Prescription Center, which is a family owned pharmacy in Brandon, Florida. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and watching every sport possible on TV. All he wants for Christmas is for the Rays to win the World Series.

Having grown up in a military family, James lived a life of constant change by attending 11 different schools and living abroad in Germany, Japan, and Argentina. He is a graduate student getting his Master of Accountancy at USF and works as a Teaching Assistant for Principles of Managerial Accounting. James will begin taking the CPA exam this semester and can’t wait to start full-time at Ernst & Young next summer. He is very competitive and especially loves playing pick-up basketball at the gym, flag football, and soccer.

Luke Richardson – Chapter Reporter

Born in Miami and raised only minutes from USF, Luke began studying at the College of Business in the Fall of 2007. He is now a senior and is well on his way to completing his undergraduate education in Accounting. After an enormously rewarding first semester in Beta Alpha Psi, Luke will be working as an Audit Intern at Deloitte in the Spring of 2011 and plans to graduate the following Fall. He intends to pursue his Master of Accountancy degree and CPA designation upon graduation. Apart from studying and sleeping when possible, Luke loves playing sports, working out, and essentially everything else that takes place outside.
