Member Requirement Opportunities:
Tutoring signups for the first two weeks of this semester are available on Google Docs. Each hour spent tutoring is worth an hour of community service time, for a maximum of four community service hours. Please look at the openings in the schedule as we need to fill in as many of them as possible. Click here to view the signup sheet.
Signups for speech opportunities this week are available on Google Docs. This speech requirement gives you a chance to promote Beta in different classes during the first week of school. All members are required to fulfill two speech requirements; this is a great opportunity to complete those requirements early. Click here to view the signup sheet.
Upcoming Events for this Week:
Wednesday January 11th:
12:00-3:30 – College of Business Administration is hosting the Week of Welcome; we will be speaking to a variety of students about the opportunities available to them by participating in Beta Alpha Psi. There are two shifts available to fulfill your speech requirement, 12:00-2:00 and 2:00-3:30. Click here to signup.
4:00-4:30 – Committee Chair Meeting, BSN 225. Committee chair assignments are available on the Beta Alpha Psi website under member resources. Those of you with classes ending at 4:20 please try to make it for the end of the meeting.
4:30-5:30 – Members Meeting *MANDATORY MEETING!* BSN 225. Cindy Cruz, an internal auditor from Rooms To Go, will be speaking at the meeting.
5:30-6:30 – Candidate Information BSN 225 – Ana Chirino will be hosting a panel of first year staff associates. Members are welcome to attend this meeting to meet potential candidates.
Saturday January 14th:
8:00AM-12:30PM – USF will be hosting the Stampede of Service, the largest day of service at USF. Check-in is at 8:00 AM at the USF Track & Field Stadium, and service will be from 9:30AM to 12:30PM. Afterwards there will be the “Taste of the Bulls” post-service lunch. You must have signed up previously to participate.
Job Opportunities:
Campus Ambassador for Becker – There is an opportunity for a part-time job, for juniors and seniors, working as a Campus Ambassador for Becker. The Campus Ambassador program allows for a wide variety of benefits including gaining leadership experience, networking opportunities with local and national firms, and a great addition to your resume. Upon completion of the program you will receive a certificate that can be redeemed for all four parts of the Becker CPA Exam review for free or at a reduced rate. Please see Becker flyer attached in this email and send your resume to Andrea Josiah if you are interested.
Accounting Assistant – Available to sophomores and juniors, assist SASSC (Student Affairs Shared Services) staff in budget and accounting activities primarily associated with the Student Government A&S Business Management Bureau. Those that are interested can apply here (Click on student employment section and locate the student affairs job listing with title of “TSE – General Support – Accounting Assistant).
