The Delta Gamma chapter is launching a new Alumni Mentor pilot program this fall semester. We are very excited about this new program and the great opportunity it provides both our current members (mentees) and our alumni (mentors). Through this new program, alumni volunteers mentor current Beta Alpha Psi members. This is a great opportunity for those alumni who want to “give back” to Beta Alpha Psi and the USF School of Accountancy.
If you are a Beta Alpha Psi Delta Gamma Chapter alumni, please consider participating. Your advice could be instrumental in helping a current member make the right career choices. You will be able to offer career advice you wished you had received and help transition your mentee from their academic career to their business career. You can provide tips on topics from interviewing to what the “real world” of accounting is like. We are looking for mentors with preferably 3 or more years of experience, but if you have less working experience and are interested in “giving back” please complete the form below. For this program to work, we need your participation.
For current Beta Alpha Psi Delta Gamma Chapter members this could not be a better opportunity, the ability to develop a one on one relationship with someone who has been where you are and is currently working where you want to be. Don’t pass up this wonderful opportunity!
Unfortunately, as this is a pilot program there are some limitations on who can participate. To qualify a member should be in their last or next to last semester. Exceptions will be made for MAcc students. In addition, the following courses must have been completed:
• Intermediate I & II
• Cost Accounting I
• AIS
• Tax I
• Audit I
Priority will be given to graduating members. The program will also be limited based on the number of participating mentors.
Mentors and mentees should expect the following:
• Meet face to face (before the September 30th career fair)
• Job Shadow Day – Where the mentee shadows the mentor for a day
• Talk once a month (email, phone, coffee)
• Participate in a wrap up session
A special thank you to all those who have helped get this program off the ground. All your hard work to create a framework to start this program is much appreciated.
